To turn this adventure into a success, we chose two reliability-proven vehicles: Dacia Logans! By the way, when you think about it, the Challenge’s name may have something to do with this choice…
Here is the program:

  • 1 MCV Logan, the Multi-convivial vehicle, to carry 400 kilos of material and two participants.
  • 1 Logan Berline for the two other participants, all the personal belongings, and to invite journalists as we want to do it during the Challenge.

The powertrain planned for both vehicles is Renault 1.6L gasoline engine (K4M) with a 5-gear manual transmission (JH3). This choice is made in order to accept fuels with various quality, what a modern Diesel engine could not do. Those different elements will be built across Europe: France, Spain, Portugal, and Romania of course.

But why have we chosen to use a logan for this 14.000kilometers raid with sloped roads?

  • Because the Challenge’s budget is limited, and Logan is more economic to buy and use.
  • Because our logistic is limited, and Logan is the more reliable product of its category. We don’t have bring a lot of spare parts and we don’t need a assistance truck.
  • Because we want to go and meet people along the road, and a Logan is much less intimidating than a 2-tons 4×4.
  • Because we want to mobilize Renaul Group employees, and Logan is the symbol of industrial success and is built in the countries we will cross.
